Mr Qian Jibo is a famous scholar, educator and Chinese master during the period of the republic of China, who indeed learned through the Four(Confucian classics,history,philosophy and literature) and students everywhere. He had enjoyed in participating in political activities during early times, and also had been obsessed with new advocate, but later witnessed the actions of the revolutionaries, losing enthusiasm for political. Meanwhile for the prevalence of the new advocate, causing the moral lost direction, personal discipline and social order crumbled. Then he turned to education, training personnel who are proficient in Confucianism to solve social problems and save the nation.As a Confucianism and neo-Confucianism, he has studied the theory of Zhu Xi. emphasizing on textual research to the connotations, and learning Confucianism from the perspective of Chinese linguistics. His main classics is Jing Xue Tong Zhi. The purpose of the book is examing the mirror source and distinguishing the academic chapter. He divided the Confucianism by writing Confucian history, focusing on the Book of Changes and the Book of Rites. He deem that the Confucianism is traditional six classics. Later generations taking the biography, documentary, books, philosophers and interpretation of classics as Confucianism are harm to the intention of Confucianism. He devoting himself to Confucianism is to learn the sense of the classics for the students and compatriots and exercise personality, then arousing patriotism and making the nation in impregnable position. And that’s what he advocated studies of Chinese ancient civilization. So it’s the Confucianism that holds up his thought. For Confucianism, Mr. Qian inherited Zhu Xi’s thought. He consider that we should be familiar with the Four Books, not with the Five Classics. And he has not stopped the teaching of the Four Books in his teaching career.This paper is divided into five parts to discuss. The first part, background and academic study of Qian Jibo’s; the second part, the research of the Four Books; the third part, the research of the Five Classics; the fourth part, the characteristics of Confucian research and method of Confucian using; the fifth part, the historical position and overall evaluation of Qian Jibo’s Confucian research.
