The translation text is the actual sound text of documentary The Origin of the Delicacies, shot by the international channel of Guangxi TV. When Guangxi television international channel was set up, its aim was to recommend and promote Guangxi to every country in the world, especially the countries of Southeast Asia. It also aims to promote Guangxi history, culture, customs and all kinds of styles of ethnic characteristics. The documentary The Origin of the Delicacies is shot under this purpose.The project has about 40 thousand Chinese characters. Though the project has no clear time limitation, the author, in view of the number of Chinese characters and difficulty of the project, considers that the project management theory should be used for effectively accomplishing the project. The author acquires the theory knowledge of project management which is appropriate for the project. Base on the management theory, the author follows management procedures which include translator selection, glossary establishment, translation style unification, proofreading, etc. This project is an excellent translation practice. The report focuses on analyzing the preparation before interpretation, project tracking and proofreading stage. The report has some analysis and conclusion about the limitation of this project management practice.The source text of this project is highly difficult. First, it has rich content, introducing unique Guangxi cuisine, folklore and Guangxi custom. It requires plenty of investigation work about historical data. Second, it has various expression styles which include oral expression, folk song and proverb. The expression styles are challenges in the process of selecting translating styles. What’s more, there are abundant culture-loaded words in the source text. It is hard to translate the words without losing their rich folk cultural connotation. Hence, the words are great challenges of the project. With the cultural anthropology as a guideline, the author pays high attention to the translation of cultural-loaded words. Therefore, the translation could reveal the aboriginal minority culture, effectively strengthening the publicity effect.This translation report includes five parts. The first part is the translation project introduction, which mainly introduces the project source and the aims of the project. The second part is the project preparation which includes the project management and the translation material preparation. The third part is the case study. In this part the author reports on how he managed the project and folk songs translation with the support of cultural anthropology. The fourth part is the quality control and customer evaluation. The main content of this part reports on the quality control procedures and the customer feedback. The fifth part is the conclusion with the thinking of the unresolved problems and the outlook for the future.
