| Harp should be considered a musical instrument that can be best used by French impressionist master composer Debussy in his compositions. Its timbre touches your heart like spring. Its mysterious and noble look fairly matches the indistinct and fancy haziness of impressionist poetry and paintings. It can be even considered the typical instrument of the impressionism. Harp forms frequently show up in Debussy’s orchestral compositions, but there is only one sonata that contains harp trios. That’s why it is highly characteristic and deserves analysis. In addition, it is also historically significant because it’s one of the three accomplished sonatas among the six conceived by Debussy in his late years. In this paper, the author intends to interpret and conclude what this sonata has inherited and developed through example analyses, and also analyzes its performance features from the perspective of harp. This paper is divided into three parts. In Chapter 1, the author introduces mainly the composition features and background of the composer; in Chapter 2, the author conducts an analysis from the perspectives of the sonata’s overview and the writing techniques of the harp forms contained in it; in Chapter 3, the author carries out a detailed analysis of harp performance techniques and experience of this sonata. Finally, the author ends the paper with a conclusion. |
