The Ethics Rethink Of Capital Globalization

Based on the analysis of the connotation of capital and capital globalization, this paper discusses the ethical implications of capital and capital globalization, reveals the ethical dilemma of capital globalization and its causes, puts forward the ethical strategies for China’s response for capital globalization, thus arousing people’s inner heart’s moral awakening, and promoting economic development towards the positive direction and the whole human society in harmony.Firstly, by analyzing the connotation of capital, that is, productivity attribute, production relation attribute, social history and motion attribute, the author reveals the nature of capital’s "good and evil", the necessity and ethical value of capital globalization. First, capital’s production relation attribute determines the "evil" nature of capital, that is, capital is the employment relationship between people, because capital started with exploitation. Second, capital’s productivity attribute determines its "good" nature, that is, the capital productivity created the second social formations of human history with the market economy as foundation, which makes human beings develop from barbarism to civilization and peace, and human labor was freed in a certain extent. Third, the development of social productivity created the preconditions for the capital globalization. To obtain more surplus value, capital must strive for more freedom movement, thus making the capital global expansion namely capital globalization become a reality. The capital globalization created a new era in the history of the world, promoted social civilization, and laid the material foundation to higher social development.Next, the paper rethinks the ethical dilemma of capital globalization and its causes. Because of the capital maximization for surplus value, the capital globalization has brought a series of ethical dilemmas:first, the ecological crisis is the inevitable result of the capital profit predatory; second, the global space structure is classified, while the gap between the rich and the poor is extremely wide. Capital is to strengthen the rule of capital hegemony through spatial expansion. "Space" here plays dual roles--shifting the crisis and deepening the capital accumulation. Therefore, the capital globalization will inevitably lead to the "space" between the rich and the poor; third, the main parts of capital dispels human subjectivity. The phenomena of labor dissimilation and human materialization caused by the exploitation of surplus value, makes people become more into the material tools of themselves. Human subjectivity is gradually dispelled, and human beings are facing with the historical dilemma of being ruled by their own creation.Finally, the author puts forward the ethical strategies to deal with global capital in China. First, we should promote global cooperation of global ethics. We should insist on human subjectivity, peaceful development and international justice. Second, we should enhance the ethical responsibility of capital. The focus is on the Multi-National Corporations’ moral self-discipline. Meanwhile, we should strengthen moral supervision for Multi-National Corporations, and gradually improve laborers’ consciousness of their own rights. Third, we should improve ethical spirit of system. With the scientific development view as our guidance, we should insist on the people-oriented and oppose to capital oriented. We should insist on comprehensive development beyond the one-sided growth to promote the benign development of the capital globalization in China.
