Chinese Traditional Culture Education Of Teenagers

The culture of Chinese traditional festivals consists of customs, religion, ethics, and other cultural factors of Chinese life. It is the accumulation that the nation passed down for thousands of years of historical changes, also an important part of Chinese traditional culture. It is invaluable material and spiritual heritage of the nation and the people. We need to protect, inherit and carry forward our cultural of Chinese traditional festivals.The education of teenagers is an important thing that matters the future development of the country the competition in the world nowadays, is the competition of talents actually. Quality of education directly related to the quality of the talents. Our country and people pay quite a lot attention on the scientific and cultural quality education and comprehensive development of the teenagers. Teenagers are suffering a crucial period of life. It is very important to establish correct opinions on life and values. Globalization has brought great impact of multiculturalism in the modern world. It is necessary to strengthen the cultural identity, honor and sense of belonging. We can use the educational resources of the traditional festivals culture to cultivate the national spirit, patriotism, and traditional Chinese virtues of teenagers, in order to inherit the valuable traditions of the Chinese nation, promote national culture.This paper is based on the survey of perceptions and attitudes of traditional festival culture of teenagers in eight middle schools in Changsha area. We do the research to understand the status of education on traditional festivals culture of teenagers and sum up the major problems existing in festivals culture education. Teenagers lack the fundamental knowledge of traditional festivals. Culture education of traditional festivals is also neglected by the teenagers. Activities of traditional festivals are monotonous and inadequate for teenagers. According to survey data, we summarize the factors affecting culture education of traditional festivals on teenagers: the impact of multicultural values, the living pressures of contemporary society and the fast-paced life, lack of support and policy guidance by government, excessive concern to academic performance and talent.On the basis of investigation and educational theory, this paper proposes strategies to strengthen the culture education of traditional festivals on teenagers: educating on traditional festivals and cultural history of; organize more festivals events, writing compositions after festival activities; carrying out the corresponding activity holiday customs, inheriting value traditional festival culture; more supports and introductions by government on festivals activities; building a good community environment of traditional festival; positive promotion and education by mass media. With these educational measures of school, family and society, build a good environment of all aspects for the culture education on traditional festivals. Furthermore, it also strengthens the practical effect of the valuable tradition of education, the patriotism, national spirit and moral thought of teenagers.
