The Comparative Study Of Heterophonic Character Between The Annotation Of Classics And Guangyun

The Annotation of Classics(hereinafter referred to Annotation) is a significance book that differentiates meanings on the basis of pronunciations. The research on philology and language ontology of Annotation is fruitful, and the research on the heterophonic character of Annotation is insufficient. At present, academia mainly use the heterophonic character to research the formation studies caused by phonetics change. Guangyun is often used to determine the nature of the heterophonic character when the scholars compile or revise the ancient Chinese words dictionary. However, the judgment about the nature of the heterophonic character according to Guangyun often has discrepancy with actual condition. To make up for the insufficient of Guangyun in judging the nature of heterophonic character, more materials are needed to prove. The ancient pronunciation books, especially the Annotation is one of the most important materials used in this kind of material. In this paper, I will make a comprehensive and deepgoing comparison of the heterophonic character’s between Annotation and Guangyun which are in the same period, for finding more significance and value of Annotation heterophonic character in the comparative study.This thesis is based on the heterophonic characte of Annotation, with a comparative study of Guangyun heterophonic character. This thesis mainly explodes the annotation style, methods of phonetic notation of the heterophonic character, the words about the Fanqie of phonetic notation, the phonetic difference reflected by the words of Fan-qie, and the demonstrate of pronunciation and meaning are four main parts of this thesis. Among them, the phonetic difference reflected by the words of Fanqie and the demonstration of pronunciation and meaning are two important parts. The method of exhaustion is the writing principle of the two parts, to increase the scientificity and persuasion of this thesis. As the main part of the thesis, the study of the demonstrate of pronunciation and meaning finds that the meanings in Annotation is more rich than the meanings in Guangyun,the relationship of pronunciation and meaning is more accurate and specific when we look up the same word. The extra meanings in Annotation, the Chinese big dictionary includes or not includes. The heterophonic character alone in Annotation or has a complete relationship of pronunciation and meaning, or includes the pronunciation without meaning that Guangyun doesn’t include. But overall, Annotation has made a specific and accurate record on the relationship of pronunciation and meaning of the heterophonic character. This article makes the analysis of the heterophonic character in Annotation and the comparative study of the heterophonic character with Guangyun, hoping to be able to get enough and powerful materials to prove that Annotation plays an important supplementary role in the lexicography of ancient Chinese dictionary.
