Studies Of Complement In Dialect Of Xingxian In Shanxi Province

Xingxian County is located in the northeast of Shanxi Province, belonging to Lvliang area. Xingxian dialect is grouped into Xinglan dialect branch of Lvliang region among Shanxi dialects. This paper takes Xingxian oral dialect as research object through field investigation and comparative method, makes detailed description and thorough analysis on the complement system of Xingxian dialect. This paper depicts the real panorama of Xingxian dialect’s complement system in written form, filling the gap of researches on Xingxian dialect complement in the entirety of researches on Shanxi dialect grammar.Complement system of Xingxian dialect includes seven kinds, which are result complement, degree complement, state complement, directional complement, possibility complement, location complement and quantity complement. This paper describes each kind of complement in detail and reveals the main features of Xingxian dialect complement.In Chapter One, the general situation of Xingxian is introduced. Present research status of complement and predicate-complement structure at home and abroad is summed up in detail, as well as present research situation of Xingxian dialect. The study object, content and significance of this paper is clarified finally.In Chapter Two, common result complements in Xingxian dialect are discussed, which are“见”,“上1/下1”,“地/住”,“着”,“煞”and "VP+得+A”.In Chapter Three, common degree complements in Xingxian dialect are discussed, which are“死”,“要命”,“断根”,“顶不地”,“不行”,“(可)疼”,“(可)威”,“可是也啊(?)”,“来/来来”,“草鸡”,“伤糊”and "VP used as complement".In Chapter Four, common state complements in Xingxian dialect are discussed, which are“A地”,"VP/AP+得(+NP) "and“可A嘞”.In Chapter Five, common directional complements in Xingxian dialect are discussed, which are“将来/得去”,“来／去”,“上2/下2”,“起/过”,“出/回”, “开/歇”,“下来/下去/上来/上去”,“起来/起去/过来/过去”and“出来/出去/回来/回去”.In Chapter Six, common possibility complements in Xingxian dialect are discussed, which are "VP+C+嘞/" and "VP+将来(得去)+嘞/VP+不+将来(得去)”.In Chapter Seven, common location complement in Xingxian dialect is discussed, which is "V+给+处所词”.In Chapter Eight, common quantity complements in Xingxian dialect are discussed, which include "momentum complement" and "time measure complement".In Chapter Nine, the summarization of Xingxian dialect complements is made, revealing the general characteristics of the complement in Xingxian dialect.
