| Self-identity is a kind of understanding and grasp on human’s own subjectivity. Along with the development of globalization, identity crisis of human’s existence and social value appears. Moreover, the crisis is increasingly remarkable with the deepening of the "modernity". As modernity involves the great change in the entire social structure and the life-style since the industrial society, the most obvious representation of this change reflected in the field of thought is characterized by the transformation of self-identity paradigm. Under the traditional social system and structure based on the traditional production mode, the individual formed a kind of concept on social identity adapted to the traditional social mode. However, since the industrial revolution initiated the change of the traditional production mode, the basement supporting this "building of spirit" collapsed with a cloud crash. Then the individual looks forward to establishing a kind of concept on "self-identity" with the character of "modernity". Therefore, we must firstly clear up the root causing the shift of the "self-identity" paradigm, and then we have to make an in-depth analysis on the crisis of the modern identity so as to lay a foundation for reshaping the concept of modern "self-identity". Hence, it will be the subject of this thesis how the construction and reshaping of "self-identity" under the horizon of modernity is possible. The basic framework is as follows:the first chapter discusses the connotation and characteristic of the self-identity, firstly analyzing the theoretical origin of the self-identity and realistic bottleneck of the research on self-identity, secondly making a review on the ideology of self-identity, and then summing up the modern characteristic of the self-identity. The second chapter is the main body of this article. Firstly the creation of the modern identity crisis is analyzed mainly in the macro view (on the impact of the cultural globalization), in the micro view (on the loss of the individual’s subjectivity), and in the general view (on the dislocation of self-identity under the context of a consumer society). Then a transition to the three forms of self-identity crisis from the three roots above is respectively discussed (concerning the self loss from the multiculturalism, the alienation from the self loss, and the dislocation to the certainty of self identity from the alienation). Finally it develops an analysis on the possibility of reshaping the modern self-identity correspondingly through three aspects above (a reflection in the atmosphere of multiculturalism, a reflection based on Marxist Humanism Theory, a reflection based on Marxist Practice Theory). The third chapter, based on the Marxist comprehensive development theory, mainly discusses the possibility and its method of reshaping the self-identity in the horizon of modernity. Compared with the practice of reshaping self-identity in China, it makes an reintegration on the theoretical base and its modern belief of the self-identity, which is followed by a specified discussion on the three paths to realizing self-identity, respectively from economy, politics and culture. Finally the conclusion refers that realizing self-identity is a complicated, specified and realistic practice, which is not only a theoretical question of subjectivity, but also a reason for the individual to obtain the safety. |
