In the process of cultural communication between China and Japan, the 1 atter used to carve a large amount of Chinese Classic books, which were called Japanese block-printed editions. Some of these editions are of high literature value because the original ones are rare till now. This paper cho oses six block-printed editions by 5 Japanese monk poets in Yuan Dynast y to research and explore, including Baiyun Ji(白云集),Lushan Wai Ji(庐山外集)Danju Gao(澹居稿),Bishan Tangji’(碧山堂集),Xulu Gao(雪庐稿)as well as Jinyu Bian(金玉编).Among these book, the last three cannot be found in the mainland, the first two printed in the mainland are not completed compared with its Japanese edition. Therefor e, it is of great significance to study and discuss Japanese carved copies o f these books.Our study explore these block-printed editions of the five m onk poets from three aspects. To begin with, we study current status of al 1 the editions of these six books in order to make Chinese type more comp leted with the help of Japanese ones. Besides, we conclude activities and life experience of these Japanese Monks, mainly paying attention to their interaction with scholars. Last but not the least, we analyze their preserv ed poems which can clearly reflect their creative features in a certain peri od of time.
