A Study On The Phonology Of Yuncheng Yanhu District Dialect

Yuncheng yanhu district is located in the southern of Shanxi province, it is on the east of Xia xian,west of linyi,south of Pinglu and RuiCheng,north of JiShan andWenXi.Yanhu district is Yuncheng City resident, there are eight streets, seven towns and six townships.As a important part of fenhe piece,researching on Yanhu district phonology has important significance on Shanxi dialect.The focus of this article is to analysis and describe the phonology of Yanhu district dialect as fully as possible by the method of fieldworkThis article is consisted of seven parts.The first part including the overview of Yanhu district geography,the population and Internal differences in dialect,and the sound symbol of this article,and the introduction to pronunciation partners.Then, it elaborates on the phonology system of this dialect, including initial consonant, final, citationtone, tone sandhi, retroflex final, sound changes of suffix zi.In the third, a chart is presented to show the coordination between initial consonant, final and Citation tone. Through comparisons of initial consonant,final and tone between Yanhu district dialect and Common Language,the fourth chapter concludes some corresponding rules between these two languages.In the following chapter, emphasis is placed on comparisons of the Phonology systems between Yanhu district Dialect and Mid-century Chinese.The sixth chapter dedicates to the literary and colloquial expressions of Yanhu district dialect, and the corresponding relation of them. The last chapter includes a list of homophones in the dialect. It makes an alphabet by final of the monosyllabic words in the dialect.Based on the comprehensive description of the Yanhu district phonetic system shows the general characteristics of the Yanhu district dialect, at the same time with the medieval phonological comparison, showing the general rule of development and change of its voice.
