Niccolò Paganini(October 27 th, 1782- May 27 th, 1840) was an Italian violinist, guitarist and composer. He was not only one of the most famous violinists in the world, but was also considered the violinist who had made the biggest innovation in the violin music and skills. Paganini’s God Save the King is a technical violin work composed based on the melody of traditional ode God Save the King, which was created during the two years from 1829-1830 when he traveled in Germany. This work has adopted many difficult violin skills, such as Double Harmonics, left hand Pizzicato, Ricochet Saltato, flying Staccato and Staccato. The invention and application of these skills have not endowed extraordinary life to the musical instrument of violin, but also influenced the development of violin. This paper analyzes the work of God Save the King from five perspectives. First of all, different versions of this work are compared, analysis of the difficult points of skills is conducted to explain how to solve these problems through practice, and suggestions on the music processing and expression techniques of this work are proposed based on the author’s playing of this work. Finally, the versions played by various master violinists(such as Accardo and Ning Feng) are compared, in this way to analyze how the masters understand and present this work.
