The Comparative Study On The Theory Of “Gewu Zhizhi ”Between Zhu Xi And Wang Yangming

The relationship of Zhu Xi and Wang Yangming has been one of the most important research propositions of Neo-Confucianism. Later thinkers and philosophers made a lot of investigation and inquiry about the philosophy relationship of the two people, and paid a lot of effort. Emphasizing on the learning methods is the tradition of Neo-Confucianism, Wang Yangming and Zhu Xi’s viewpoints mainly reflected in their theory of “gewu zhizhi”. This paper would like to proceed from this point, exploring the theory root of “gewu zhizhi”of Wang Yangming and Zhu Xi from the perspective of the Science and the Mind.Interpreting the two ideological connotations of “gewu zhizhi”,and exploring the similarities and differences of the theory of “gewu zhizhi”.Although Zhu Xi and Wang Yangming have two different philosophical principles, two theories including the primitive,the epistemology,the mind theory are reflected on the life care,the identity of Confucian moral principle and the value orientation of moral practice.The purpose of this study was to explain the ideological root of “gewu zhizhi”of Zhu Xi and Wang Yangming,and the ideological meaning of “gewu zhizhi”,and study the differences and similarities between the theories of Zhu Xi and Wang Yangming of “gewu zhizhi”.Finally studying the relationship of Zhu Xi and Wang Yangming.Although the theory of “gewu zhzhi” reflects their philosophical principles,the epistemology of the two people has a relationship with moral cultivation.Understanding the content, for each of us to understand Chinese philosophy, especially Neo-Confucianism and self-conscious morality plays an important role.The method of this study is based on literature research-based, at first, by reading the "Four Books", "Quotations of Zhu Xi", "The Complete Works of Wang Yangming," "The works of Er Cheng" and other ancient texts, and collecting the Modern and Contemporary scholarly works related to interpretation of “gewu zhizhi”of Zhu Xi and Wang Yangming to find the relationship of the theory of “gewu zhizhi”.Through the study of literature and learning, eventually clear the relationship of Zhu Xi and Wang Yangming and clarify the relationship between Zhu Zi school and Wang Yangming school.The research contents and innovation of this paper: the comparative research of “gewu zhizhi”of Zhi Xi and Wang Yangming is the object of this article. To accomplish this task mainly divided the following chapters: the first, the theoretical basis of “gewu zhizhi’of Zhu Xi and Wang Yangming; the second, the ideological content of the theory of Zhu Xi and Wang Yangming; the third, the differences and similarities of the theory of “gewu zhizhi”; the fourth, the relationship between Zhu Zi school and Wang Yangming school. The innovation of this paper is by combing through the system, summarizing the theory of “gewu zhizhi”of Zhu Xi and Wang Yangming, to attempt to explain the importance of morality, and guide the self moral cultivation of the people.
