Baoding Investigation Of The Professional Music Education Of Ordinary University Of Art

Today, in the 21 st century, exam-oriented educaion will no longer be in the leading position while quality education is becoming increasingly stressed. This is not to say the former is opposite to the latter, but to emphasize the importance of quality education, which is to foster comprehensive talented people with applicability and all around development of moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetics and labor education. As an important part of quality education, music education is playing a positive and irreplaceable part in various aspects not only in improving humane quality and elegant aesthetic taste but also in bringing up artistic accomplishments of undergraduates from common colleges and universities. Overlooking music education will certainly lead to the serious loss of talents with musical quality. As a famous and cultural city with a history of more than 3000 years, Baoding was once Zhili Govern-general’s Office in the Qing Dynasty. Having a profound cultural heritage, it has now moistened a great number of writers, poets and artists. It was also the cradle of Chinese Anti-war Literature, added by youthful vigor from colleges and universities. Being a musical major from Hebei Normal University, I am now working at Baoding Mass Art Museum. The nature of my job requires frequent deepening into troops, communities, enterprises and schools to carry out artistic tutorship. In such process, shortage of musical knowledge is found among college students and there are a large proportion of people who have poor ability to enjoy and appreciate music. Based on this phenomenon, I chose four representative universities as object of study and made questionnaire in the undergraduates. Research findings show that most students like music but the musical education they received before entering college is very differential because of regional and environmental reasons and emphatic degree from schools. To improve musical quality, upgrade appreciative level and promote comprehensive quality in short music learning process, this thesis analyzed and concluded the current problems existed in Baoding University, China University of Geosciences Great wall College, Hebei Finance University and Hebei College of Science and Technology. Through strategic study, this thesis finally puts forward some suggestions.
