| Task-Based language teaching is an important teaching theory proposed by language teaching researchers in 1980 s, which is a new language teaching method. It encourages students to "learning by doing" and to organize teaching with a series of "task" and pay attention to cultivating students’ creative abilityAs a basic course in secondary vocational education, English teaching is also required to change its traditional teaching idea to adapt to the development of vocational education. But at present, the English Teaching in vocational schools is still in the traditional teaching mode and the vocational school students are not the ideal of the students in junior high school, especially in English vocabulary learning, there is a big problem. So the vocabulary learning effect is not very desirable that students have no interest and confidence in English learning. Therefore, it is necessary to find an effective method of teaching English vocabulary.This thesis mainly discusses the effect of Task-Based language teaching on the students’ English vocabulary learning in the secondary vocational school.This study mainly answered the following questions:(1) Are there any influences on the students’ learning behavior if“task-based language teaching†is applied?(2) What effects can be achieved if “task-based language teaching†isapplied in English vocabulary teaching in a secondary vocationalschool?(3) Has the students’ ability of English vocabulary learning beenimproved with the application of “task-based language teaching�The author has selected two classes of Guizhou Machinery Industry School in Guizhou Province as the experimental group, the teaching experiment was conducted for three months, In the course of the study, Task-Based language teaching and the traditional English teaching method were adopted respectively in the experimental class and the control class. This research aims to explore the influence of task based teaching method on the students’ ability of English vocabulary. During the teaching experiment, the author made two tests and a questionnaire on two classes. The data were collected in detail, and the results of all the experiments were analyzed.The results show that Task-Based language teaching can effectively promote the students’ English vocabulary learning ability, and can stimulate students’ interest in learning English. |
