To study the relationship between psychological capital and occupational commitment of special teachers, to explore whether group counseling can effectively improve special teachers’ psychological capital and career commitment, there were 2 studies. In study 1,212 special teachers participated using Psychological Capital Questionnaire and Occupational Commitment Scale for Middle School and Elementary School Teachers in the present study. Results showed that:(1)for the psychological capital of special teachers, there is no significant difference as to the gender; there is marginal significant as to the education background(F=2.880,p=0.058), major(F=2.837,p=0.061)and teaching sector(F=2.073,p=0.070); there is significant difference as to years spent teaching(F=2.712,p=0.069) and grade teaching, that is, the longer teaching and the higher grade teaching, the higher of psychological capital. (2) for the occupational commitment of special teachers, there are no significant differences in gender and education background; there is significant difference in different majors (F=4.657, p=0.000), that is, the highest is the major related to special education, followed by special education major and major unrelated with special education; there is significant difference in teaching sectors (F=3.862, p=0.002) and grades teaching (F=6.290, p=0.000). (3)The psychological capital had a significant and positive impact on the occupational commitment.In study 2, there are 20 special teachers are surveyed by means of pre-test and post-test in the experimental group and the control group, and only the experimental group was asked to make group counseling. Results showed in the following:(1) after group counseling, the scores of experimental group improved significantly in the pretest and posttest for psychological capital (t=-4.735, p=0.001) and occupational commitment (t=-2.464, p=0.036); (2) for the control group, there is no significant difference at the level of psychological capital and occupational commitment across pretest and posttest.The conclusions are in the following:(1)There was a positive relationship between psychological capital and occupational commitment of special teachers, and the latter was impacted by the former obviously.(2)The group counseling can effectively improve the psychological capital and occupational commitment of special teachers, and the intervention had a very good effect.
