In the Modern Literature History of China, Xiao Hong is an outstanding In the Modern Literature History of China, Xiao Hong is an outstanding writer among her contemporaries. Lu Xun repeated that she was the most brilliant and valued female writer after Bing Xin, and Ding Ling. It isn’t difficult for us to find that Xiao is a writer good at recollecting and digging out writing materials from her deep memories. Hulan River and The Small Town in March are her masterpieces recalling Hulan River when she was far away from her hometown. Three years after Mr. Lu Xun passed away, Xiao Hong produced Memories of Lu Xun with strong sentiment and unique language style not only a piece of treasure of Lu Xun’memoirs, but also a model of Chinese Modern Commemorating People Prose, showing Xiao Hong’s bright and creative personality and excellent writing ability.As a case, this thesis intends to analyze characteristics of Xiao Hong’s works from three aspects:deviant brushstrokes, lonely monologue, and compassionate bosom, and it also explores the use of free style, the perspective of mimetic children, the poetic novels and essays, the narrative angle of autobiography, the meticulous and keen insight, the strong consciousness of local things, the consciousness of reforming the nation, the reflection of the suffering of life, the question of women’ destiny, and the doubt of patriarchal society to further reveal the unique artistic charm of Xiao Hong’s works.
