On The C-E Translation Of Public Signs In Fujian Earth Building Scenic Area From The Perspective Of Relevance Theory

In recent years, tourism has been developing rapidly as the international communication becoming more and more frequent, China also attracts more and more foreign tourists come and visit China. As one of the treasures of Chinese tourism, Fujian Earth-building draws much attention of foreign visitors as well. And with the amount of the foreign tourists increasing, the significance of the public signs translation raises. However, the current situation of these translations is troublesome:it misleads the foreign tourists and it also does harm to the demonstration of Chinese image in the international stage.To amend the errors in translation discussed above, many scholars have done a lot. They have made the translations better from different theories such as skopos theory, functionalist translation theory and adaptation theory. The study is going to discuss the public signs of Fujian Earth-building under the guide of relevance theory.In the study, the writer will try her best to illustrate the relevance theory first and find out the unreasonable translations in Fujian Earth-building public signs and then correct them under the guide of relevance theory. The writer makes a correction of the mistakes in both the linguistic forms and pragmatics use, hoping to improve the quality of the translation in Earth-building and let the foreign tourists know the Earth-building better.
