Known as the Mother of the French New Wave Cinema Movement, the French female director Agnes Varda has so far created more than 40 films, making a far-reaching influnce on the french film world. In Agnes Varda’s films, "body" is an extremely important concept. It is not only a sign of her persistent objects, but also her starting point and method of perception, thinking and expression, occupying a central position in her creative practice. But in the study of Varda’s films, the concept of "body" has always been limitedly discussed in the context of feminist films by scholars, which covers its fuction and value as a fundamental element in Varda’s creation. For this reason, this article try to examine the "self-consciousness","spatial construction" and "feminisim", three important issues in Varda’s films, to clarify the concept of "body" as a key role in Varda’s creative practice and to explore her unique "body" aesthetic.
