In painting, there is a phenomenon that a large number of artists commit their worksto some valuable places. This paper aims to explore the underlying reasons for theircommitment to places. Firstly, the evolution of places is often accompanied with thetransformation of urban life and society. Secondly, places have their roles insignificant historical or political events. Thirdly, the interdependence between humanbeings and nature as well as the value of places themselves also affect artists inchoosing places. Owing to these factors, the correlations between places and artistshave became an enduring theme in the field of fine arts.
