This report mainly analyzes the translation of adverbial clauses in financial English to Chinese, and the selected translated texts are three articles about China’s economic analysis written by Michael Pettis, a famous economic expert. The first article entitled The Four Stages of Chinese Growth divides China’s economic growth into four stages. The second article entitled The Impact of Reform on Growth and the third Will Reforms Speed Growth in China analyze the impact of reform on Chinese economic growth. This report is divided into three parts:the first part introduces the features of adverbial clauses in financial English and the translation standards of financial English to Chinese. The second part analyzes the adverbial clauses introduced by as,if and since; the third part analyzes the translation of adverbial clauses in long and complex sentences, and examples are used to analyze the translation of adverbial clauses in financial English in detail.
