| The combination of lacquer art and ceramics is the extension of synthetic arts. The application of this combination on the household decorations shows distinctive artistic characteristics due to its special material and different craft techniques. It brings us a collection of visual aesthetics, such as rich elegance, simple low-key, warm peace, and enthusiasm, telling from the texture colors, design patterns, and material textures.This study mainly focused on the household decorations made from the combination of lacquer art and ceramics, aiming to investigate the utilization of composite materials. First, we reviewed a large quantity of literatures, and further absorbed. Second, field investigations were conducted. Based on these, the main materials, techniques and the developing status of modern lacquer art and ceramics were analyzed and summarized. The application and design of lacquer art and ceramics on modern household decorations were also investigated. From the perspective of marketing request and the previous cases, we summarized the necessity and feasibility of the decoration designing based on the combination of lacquer art and ceramics. Third, the design philosophy and corresponding expression means were also summarized mainly from six aspects, namely, materials, modeling, craft, color and design patterns, which were further applied to our design works.Our study tried to extend the creating approaches of modern lacquer art and ceramics and exploring the best approach to combine of lacquer art and ceramics and its potential law and expression means. The research of this paper with the significance of innovation, and the value of history, culture and economy. The application of this combination to the design of household decorations will inject unique traditional culture into the market of household products, improve the product value of lacquer art and ceramics, and enrich the diversity of decorations. It is hoped that our work will shed light on the creation of household act from ceramic body paints and the corresponding material designs, which will provide some literature basis for the utilization of composite materials on lacquer art and ceramics. |
