Traditional brocade is the most gorgeous cultural heritage that the Li ancestors in Hainan left in the long historical development process.It records the history、the culture、the religious beliefs and all aspects of daily life of the Li nationality,which has a history of thousands of years.During the long time,the Li have created colorful and various of brocade patterns which not only contain the culture and history of their nationality and longing of a better life,but also become one of the most intuitive and vivid elements of researching value of the brocade.The thesis attempts to integrate the patterns of Li brocade into the modern fabric decorations of household articles to design the more beautiful modern domestic fabric decorations with national features through the analysis and induction of the Li brocade patterns,deriving from the Li brocade patterns and making the modern domestic fabric decorations as the object.The purpose of the thesis is to inherit and develop the culture of the Li brocade,effectively enrich the contemporary design language and expend the application and development of the brocade used in the field of the modern fabric of household articles.At the same time,it also helps to add the culture value of the modern domestic fabric decorations.During the process of the researching,the historical and cultural background of the brocade patterns and the factors of their formation is sorted out firstly through a big amount of research on references.Then the writer comprehensives field investigation to summarize the artistic features of the Li brocade patterns,making a classification and analyzing the direction of traditional brocade’ s application based on several common patterns,their symbolic meaning and cultural connotation.Subsequently,the writer describes the current situation of the Li brocade patterns in the domestic fabric decorations’ application.And basing on this,the writer makes an analysis derived from humanity、market and aesthetic three aspects,interpreting detailedly the necessity and feasibility of that the brocade is used in the modern domestic fabric decorations.On this basis,the writer detailedly analyzes the application value of the Li brocade patterns,digging the inner cultural meaning of them and researching emphatically the Li brocade patterns’ application in the design of modern domestic fabric decorations derived from the“shape”“meaning”and“soul”three aspects,which is based on the study and analysis of predecessors.Later,through the understanding of the patterns’ conception、moulding、composition and color these aspects,the writer makes a creative interpretation of the Li brocade patterns,combining with the design conception of the modern domestic fabric decorations,which makes the various of visual elements of the brocade patterns constitute a variety of creative graphics to realize the development of traditional culture through the“direct reference”“simplification”“imaging the meaning in the figures"“imagery modeling"and“decomposition-reconstruction”these innovate design methods.During the final design practice,according to the theory of previous studies,the writer makes the modern domestic fabric decorations in three different spaces with the brocade patterns which matches the modern aesthetics,and opens a new chapter for the development of the Li brocade’s culture and modern domestic fabric decorations.
