| Yu Changcheng’s criticism of the eight part essay has an important position in the history of the eight part essay criticism. His criticism theory and content is very rich,but later generations only cite his comment; the specific and systematic research is quite scanty. This paper is based on "the eight part essay of one hundred and twenty famous writers", general comment as the research object, Yu Changcheng’s theory and criticism on the eight part essay as the focal point, trying to have a systematic study on Yu Changcheng’s criticism of the eight part essay, and to reveal its important position in the history of criticism on eight part essay.The main body of this paper is divided into three parts:The first chapter is about Yu Changcheng’s works and the selection of "the eight part essay of one hundred and twenty famous writers". Firstly, a description of Yu Changcheng’s life is made. Yu Changcheng is a famous scholar of the eight part essay,compiling a series of anthologies of essays, reviewing the style of the famous eight part essay writer, exploring the development of the eight part essay, of which the most famous is "the eight part essay of one hundred and twenty famous writers". Secondly,a count of the selection about "the eight part essay of one hundred and twenty famous writers" in the statistical form is made. The number of articles selected in the book differs from dynasty, reflecting his selection standards and theory of the eight part essay.The second chapter is about Yu Changcheng criticism on writing period. In "the eight part essay of one hundred and twenty famous writers", Yu Changcheng selected the eight part essay from Song Dynasty to the early Qing Dynasty. And to the comment period, this chapter is divided into six periods to study Yu Changcheng’criticism of the eight part essay, the Song Dynasty Confucianism period, Ming Chenghua Zhengde and Jiajing period, Ming Hongzhi period, Ming Longqing Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, Ming Tianqi period, early period of Qing Dynasty. And Wang Anshi, Wang Ao, Tang Shunzhi, Qu Jingchun, Chen Jitai, Han tan are the typical writers.The third chapter is about Yu Changcheng’s criticism theory. Yu Changchengattaches great importance to the role of the eight part essay. The eight part essay is a kind of special literary style, being the basic writing type to "sages". Yu Changcheng fully affirmed the status of the text, but also affirmed the relationship between language and chinese. Yu Changcheng not only made description about the style of famous writers of the eight part essay, but also can combine the character, knowledge,experience to talk about and explain the reason and the change of the eight part essay style forming. Yu Changcheng takes the eight part essay as a combination of theory,gas, and law. In a word, Yu Changcheng’s criticizing standards are wide, magnificent,and strict.The epilogue summarizes the structure and content of this paper, emphasizing the important value of Yu Changcheng’s criticism of the eight part essay, and the important position in the history stereotyped writing criticism. |
