The daily Korean language education is developing enormously these days. Accordingly, the pronunciation teaching, as the basis of smooth communication, is being attached with more importance. Incorrect pronunciation would be an obstacle for smooth communication, regardless of flawless grammar or vocabulary usage. Importance of pronunciation education should also be strengthened for higher level study of the language.(?) (2007) pointed out that the incorrect pronunciation of Chinese speakers is due to the systematic difference between Chinese and Korean languages. More specifically, the reason has been the pronunciation of the final consonants. From the syllable structural view of Chinese and Korean words, there are seven final consonants for Korean words, while there are only two (’n’,’ng’) for Chinese words. Further, the varied formations the final consonants have been a difficulty in grasping the correct pronunciation. For those who are not clearly aware of the importance of final consonants pronunciation, they have usually encountered the problems of final consonant’s omission, contraposition, prothesis 。The very common example would be pronouncing the word "(?)" as [hagjo].For most literature in the related area, the focus has been on predicting the difficulty of pronunciation from the comparative study on language systems of Korean and Chinese languages, and most research has been done by doing experiments to categorize the bias in pronunciation and find the reason for the bias. However, they overlooked varied phonetic changes of final consonants, while only focused on the 7 final consonants themselves.This paper concentrates on pronunciation of final consonants in Korean language, especially on the "(?)", whose bias pronunciation has been common for Chinese speakers. To process the research, we, firstly, recorded fifty monosyllabic and multisyllabic words that contain "(?)" as final consonants. And then, we analyzed the recording materials separately for monosyllables and multi-syllables. For the multi-syllables, the analysis has been done through the four phonetic change or liaison, strong sound, aspirated sound, progressive assimilation, to trace out the category and reason for the bias. This paper agrees that the bias pronunciation has been due to the fact of systematic difference between Korean and Chinese languages, and this paper aims at finding out the more proper ways to help Chinese speakers to grasp Korean pronunciation, especially the pronunciation for the final consonants.As the South Korean culture spreads through China, more colleges and universities are offering Korean language study, and the study has also attracted many students. Hence, building up an efficient Korean language education system, for example higher quality textbooks, better trained teaching staffs and more improved education quality, has become a necessity. This research, aiming at the problem of teaching correct pronunciation of Korean language to the Chinese speakers, has its applicable and practical meaning onto the education system.
