In the end of nineteenth century, social change happened in Europe. For this reason,People’s pursuit of spiritual culture also changed. In the field of literature and arts,inspiration, creativity and more freely emotions became more important. During thisperiod there have been many new literary and artistic genres, such as symbolist poetryand impressionist painting. Under the influence of environment and new ideas, Debussyjoined impressionist ideas and methods, created impressionist music on the basis of thethe traditional romantic music.Piano creation run through Debussy’s music career. Divided by time and maturity ofimpressionistic musical, there are three sections of Debussy creative period: initialcreation (1884-1890), the mid-creation (1890-1910), late creation (1910-1918).Debussy’s impressionistic music’s style is focused on feelings and impressions. Hemade free, mysterious and hazy atmosphere by depicting things. Natural landscape,painting and poetry is mostly the theme of Debussy’s piano music. Throng depictingthemes by music, he expressed subjective impressions and feelings. Debussy broke thecreation mode of traditional music, the style of creation mainly as follows: melody isshort, harmony is diverse, timbre combination is sundry, structure is vague and the effectof sound is hazy.Debussy’s piano music not only inherited the features of classical and romanticpiano music, it also conducted a bold exploration and innovation. Debussy brought themusic of20th century to a new level and found a new way for the development of pianomusic.
