In the first half of the 19th century in France, under the influence of symbolist poetry and impressionist paintings of the same period,Debussy initiated the impressionist music school. At the World’s Exposition in 1889 and 1890,Debussy was shocked by the special timbres of Indonesian gamelans, attracted by Spanish Habanera dance music, moved by Russian nationalist music, and immersed in the Oriental pentatonic scale...The influence of Japanese Ukiyo-e aesthetics on Debussy is also deeply reflected in his music works. On this basis,Debussy created his own unique techniques: the use of discordant chords, third superposition, continuous note, diatonic scale, pentatonic scale, block splice, fluid movement, etc.,to push the impressionist music to a climax, brilliant, for the transition from traditional music to modern music to build a bridge. In this paper, from the influence of sister art,the infection of folk music and the invasion of Ukiyo-e aesthetics, combined with the representative works of Debussy, this paper will further explore the specific reasons for the formation of impressionist music, and briefly analyze the social influence brought by impressionist music.
