There were many internal and external problems for Modern China. Chinese began to reflect on human rights and dignity in this special condition. Under this background, research on people’s problems became the focus in academic circles. Yan Fu, as the representative of Chinese philosophy and the first person opened the horizon in China. To achieve the self-conservation as the purpose, his hominology was proposed because of these. On the one hand, he absorbed the essence of the spirit of times and studied the western outstanding cultural achievements to update the concept of personality. On the other hand, he absorbed the essence of the national spirit and combined with China’s national conditions, and then he researched the hominology in Chinese Philosophy peculiar way to make a new discovery to the problems of people. Yan Fu’s hominology is based on the theory of evolution, including liberalism and human rights, and the core idea is San min thought. He designed to awaken people to realize the anti-aggression.Based on the results of previous studies, this article combines the advanced western civilization and the multiple impact of Chinese traditional culture from perspective of the modern transformation of Chinese philosophy and Yan Fu’s thought to research the Yan Fu’s hominology. From the modern Chinese society and philosophical diversifications to discuss the background of the formation of Yan Fu’s hominology. Both the ancient Chinese hominology and the modern hominology as the reference, and the theory of evolution as the basis to analyze the theoretical basis of Yan Fu’s hominology. Through the liberalism and human rights, and the San min thought, elaborate the main content of Yan Fu’s hominology and the significance of Yan Fu’s hominology for the modern transformation of Chinese philosophy. With the comparison between Yan Fu’s hominology and Huxley, Spencer and John Mill’s ideas and the comparison between Yan Fu’s hominology and Chinese ancient hominology, analyze and summarize the criticism of the feudal traditional thought, the great importance to national quality problem from Yan Fu’s hominology, and the significance of Yan Fu’s hominology for the modern transformation of Chinese philosophy.
