With the rapidly development of globalization wave as well as the continuousincrease of China’s comprehensive national strength, the number of global learningChinese is growing,“Chinese fever” is heating up. In order to meet the needs of thedevelopment of Chinese international promotion enterprise, HSK is in constantdevelopment and improvement, it is on the basis of the old HSK.The new HSK is putforward for the insufficiencies of old HSK, after more than five years of development,although it has obtained very high recognition, inevitably there are some problems dueto its formation time. And the same as the language test of IELTS, which accumulatedrich experience in both theory and practice, has achieved worldwide success and canprovide reference for us.Listening is an important link in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, and alsothe most vulnerable part of the Chinese language learners. By investigating the testscores of international education college students, we found that listening scoressignificantly lower than the other several parts. In view of this,the paper studys the newHSK5and IELTS from the two aspects of design and content and to investigate theefficacy of new HSK5, and provides some referential suggestions for the futuredevelopment and implementation to make it more perfect. Finally combining theproblems existing in the intermediate listening class,we explore the after effect of thehearing test of new HSK5, and make it reach to the purpose of promote learning andteaching.The paper is divided into six chapters altogether.The first chapter is introduction, this part mainly introduces the research reason,purpose, significance and the theory basis of language testing etc, and presents the newHSK study and comparative study on the language test results which were reviewed toleads to the object and mentality of this paper.The second chapter is comparative study on the test design of new HSK5andIELTS listening, this chapter is mainly about the comparative study of listening part ofcomposition, text types and test form.The third chapter is comparative study on the material input of new HSK5and IELTS listening, it is mainly about the form and content of select material.The fourth chapter is the revelation for the new HSK5from IELTS,on the basis ofcomparative analysis of chapter two and three, it concluded the enlightenment that theIELTS listening give to the new HSK5hearing in terms of test design and materialselection.The sixth chapter is the after effect of the new HSK5hearing test to intermediateChinese listening teaching, mainly discusses the combination testing and teaching ofnew HSK, it aims at the problem in intermediate listening teaching, and combines withthe new HSK5to give some suggestions to the intermediate listening teaching.The seventh chapter is conclusion, mainly summarizes the research conclusionand the deficiencies of this paper.
