| As an assessment of Chinese proficiency and an important part of Chinese international education,the research of new HSK comes a lot of significance.The new HSK came out in 2009 developed on the basis of the old HSK.It counters a learner who takes Chinese as a second language,evaluating their use and study,then promoting teaching strategies and improvement.IELTS is an internationally renownedlanguage assessment system for students applying for study and those who plan to work or immigrate in English-speaking countries.IELTS and the new HSK test are both based on the theory of communicative language test,each has its own characteristics and advantages of which the listening part is the overlap of these two kinds of test.Though undergoing late development and advanced theory guidance,the new HSK still needs to be improved compared to the more experienced IELTS test.The current study focused on the comparison of listening part between the new HSK(Level 6)and the IELTS is not too much.Based on the theory of communicative language test,this paper is to prove how listening tests examinee’s communicative competence through the new HSK(Level 6)and the IELTS and summarizethe guiding ideology of the two.The conclusion is that IELTS requires a higher level of communicative ability than the new HSK(Level6).As a whole,a combination of quantitative and qualitative analysis was taken in the study with status,problems,suggestions and countermeasures,providing theoretical support and decision-making reference to promote international Chinese education and the national soft power construction. |
