Application Of Bronze Ornamentation In Graphical Modeling Design

The worldwide attention on China and Chinese culture caused the increasinglydiversified demand for design of Chinese characters，while the basic font of Chinesecharacter is hard to meet the needs of modern society. How to develop Chinese charactermodeling design from Chinese traditional culture and absorb nutrients is an importantresearch subject.Based on the cognition of the relationship between Chinese traditional culture and artdesign, this paper studies the graphical design of Chinese characters using Chinesetraditional elements, and with the author’s font design creative thinking "Bronze Age" as anexample."Bronze Age" fonts applied bronze decorative ornamentation and its mentalmeaning to the character designs, reflecting the national spirit and contemporary beauty,charm and personality with a strong visual impact. This paper analyzes the relationshipbetween the characteristics of Chinese character modeling and traditional ornamentation,illustrates the thoughts and method of Chinese characters design from traditional bronzeornamentation, and analyses the graduation creation practice from a theoretical perspective.Based on the research of font design with traditional Chinese decoration, this paper try toinfluence and raise awareness on the excellent traditional Chinese culture, find the uniquebeauty and imagery of Chinese characters, as well as make the font design more nationalityand competitive. In short, this study will provide valuable reference for contemporarygraphical font design theory and practice.
