Translation Report For Generation Project Operation And Maintenance Agreement

Repetition, as a remarkable feature and a basic characteristic of Linguistic Redundancy,abounds in legal English. It is very difficult for translators to translate. If we completely translateliterally, the translation will be verbose; if we ignore this phenomenon, the translation will becomeinaccurate. Doing some research about repetition will contribute to understanding the differenceand similarity between English and Chinese and will improve translation quality. It also hasimportant academic value and practical significance. This is a translation report for GenerationProject Operation and Maintenance Agreement, which classifies common lexical repetition andsuggests four translation strategies based on the translation process. The author suggests adoptingsubstitution, omission, combination and repetition, and analyzes the reasons for said methodsrespectively by examples. The author believes that, the reasonable translation strategy isconductive to solving the problem of lexical repetition and can make the translation satisfy therequirement of the readers who speak target language.
