As a core part of Chinese traditional aesthetic psychology, the thought of Chinesetraditional aesthetic psychology was originated from Chinese traditional culture. Intensivestudies on this field can clarify the cause and effect of Chinese aesthetic psychology, identifyits value in modern society, meanwhile contribute to the development of Chinese localpsychology. However, research productions on it are numbered, and most of them were fromaesthetics which were much more speculative and empirical insufficient. Therefore, this paperplanned to research the thought of Chinese traditional aesthetic psychology in a creativeway——taking full advantage of the empirical research methods in the contemporarypsychology, so as to make a breakthrough on research methods in this field and induce otherresearchers to come forward it, which can also provide important empirical evidences to thedevelopment of Chinese traditional aesthetic psychology.Firstly, development the Scale of Chinese Traditional Aesthetic Preference to investigatethe present status of undergraduate aesthetic preferences to the thought of Chinese traditionalaesthetic psychology, follow-up with a eye movement study to get further evidences aboutundergraduate aesthetic preferences to the thought of Chinese traditional aesthetic psychology,finally the Go/No-Go Association Task was designed to confirm if there were implicitdistinctions on the subject. Conclusions were as follows:1. The Scale of Chinese Traditional Aesthetic Preference has good validities andreliabilities, could be used to assess the present status of undergraduate aesthetic preferencesto the thought of Chinese traditional aesthetic psychology.2. No significant differences were found in gender or major.3.Explicitly, undergraduates didn’t show significant aesthetic preferences.4.Implicitly, Undergraduates had significant aesthetic preferences to the subject.
