Accompanied by the popularization and promotion of the national fitness campaign’ conducting, psychological effects of physical exercise has also been researched a lot. Xi’an has a large number of universities, middle-aged teachers share a large proportion of university’s teachers,heir health status highly affects education and the results of scientific research.In order to better understand the Xi’an university teachers’ physical and mental health of middle-aged, as well as to provide a theory support for their development,our study started with resilience to discuss the effects of physical exercise on resilience and subjective well-being,and the relationship of those variables.By using physical exercise behavior questionnaire, SWBS-CC and The Scale of Resilience, we selected500middle-aged teachers in Xi’an universities for the study, and by using spss19.0and Amos statistical software for data analysis.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)The proportion of middle-aged teachers in colleges and universities to participate in physical exercise is more than half, but the overall situation of physical exercise constrained by many objective and subjective factors; main purpose of the exercise is to enhance physical fitness, healthy, besides, those teachers generally believe that they are in a good health condition, in order to have a better work and life, most people think that physical exercise is an effective way to enhance enhance physique;(2)middle-aged college teachers’ resilience showed a significant difference in different ages and professional titles,generally, older teacher shows higher resilience level;(3)the subjective well-bing of middle-aged teachers had significant differences in gender, age, major, education background and professional titles, in short, men’s feeling of subjective well-being is higher than women; on different dimensions of subjective well-being, always some older middle-aged teachers’ subjective well-being are higher than other youngers;(4) There is a positive correlation relationship between middle-aged college teachers’ physical exercise, resilience and subjective well-being; the positive correlation relationship between resilience and subjective well-being is also significant.(5)resilience played an intermediary role between physical activity and subjective well-being,and the effect was significant.So, physical exercise with quality and quantity will not only enhance their physical fitness,but also enhance resilience and subjective well-being levels by moderate and effective exercise.Therefore.we should make some efforts to improve universities middle-aged teachers’ mental health no matter from the concept of individual health, construction of sports culture and facilities in universities, and support from government and society, so that to provide strong supports and services for the development of university teaching and research capabilities.
