This article is divided into five parts.The first part states the historical background of DongLin School,and DongLin scholars’life stories. At the later period of the Ming dynasty,the society was so chaos,which aroused DongLin scholars to save the country. So they built DongLin academy,stated their theories,tried to save the country.The second part researches the Confucianism theory of DongLin School.As a part of Confucianism, their theories centered on "Li", and developed it. They thought that the growth of everything started with "Li". For the people,"Li" is "Xing". For "Xing","Li" is "goodness". So,"Li"、Xing"、"goodness" are also the ontology. At the same time, they stated the spirit of studying hardly, and insisted the cognition must undergo studying、asking、thinking%identify and action.So that, we can acquire the rational knowledge. They also realized the importance of the actual practice. They thought that people can understand "Li" from the actual practice.The third part and the forth part states DongLin scholars’proposition and practice in education and administration.They made 《The principle of DongLin academy》 cleared the rule of learning,told the readers that we must read the classics. They also persuded people to set up the belief of governing the country,encouraged the people to train their sentiment.They had the courage to reform the country,carried forward the spirit of administration and pragmatism.The fifth part gives an objective evaluation of DongLin School.On the one hand,there are some disadvantages in their thories and practice. On the other hand,this paper affirms the status of DongLin School.DongLin School deepened Confucianism, showed the development of Neo-Confucianism at the later period of the Ming dynasty, expounded the culture of Chinese academy. The administration and pragmatism of DongLin School cleared the direction of Chinese philosophy in the future.
