Based on the Skopos theory, the translation process is determined by the Skopos of translation, and the translation should be acceptable in the culture and situation where it is applied to and can be comprehended by the readers. The translation should be faithful to the original text, while the degree and form of fidelity depend on the Skopos of translation and translators’understanding. This thesis analyzes the translation of vocabulary with Chinese characteristics in the book the Governance of China from the perspective of the Skopos theory.
