A Study On Li Bai’s Poetry In Korean Poetics

It is known that Li Bai’s poetry had been widely spread to Korea dating back to the Koryo era and was loved there. His name was referred repeatedly in many literatures. According to the statistics, which has played a very important role in analyzing Li Bai, scholars in Korea had been either working on translating, annotating his works or appreciating his talents in poetry and his attitudes towards life. From the Korean poetics which discussed about him, we could get a glance at how much influence he had and get a better understanding of poetic style, poetics, and aesthetics, which is of great importance to working on the figure of Li Bai from the classic Chinese poetics.The thesis is divided into four chapters and the discussion will be expanded in the following three aspects, the evaluation and appreciation of Li Bai’s poetry based on Korean poetics, the explanation and discussion of Li Bai’s poetry given by Korean poetics, and the comparison of advantage and disadvantage between Li Bai and Du Fu.The first chapter mainly talks about Li Bai’s poetic achievement and the appreciation of poetry in Korean poetry. The similarities and differences of aesthetics of poetry and the poetics viewpoint are well revealed by comparing the comments made by poets that come from China and Korea. The studies has covered about Li Bai’s talents and the value of his poetry, evaluation and appreciation of his poetry made by Korean poets, the comparison between Li Bai’s and other poets’works made by Korean poets, and the poetic creation based on Li Bai’s poetry. It has also showed the innovative poetic point of view made by Korean poet like Shen jingjun who had been working on Li Bai’s poetry.The second chapter focuses on the interpretation and exploration of Korea poetry on Li Bai’s poetry. Through the study of the following three aspects, the Korea poets’ interpretation on Li Bai’s poetry, the Korea poets’ discovery on the poetry and word style of Li Bai’s poetry, and the Korea poets’ assessment on Li Bai’s poetry, notes and allusion, by comparing the related review of Chinese poets, this chapter has verified and analysed the Korea author’s viewpoint showing that based on the inherit of Chinese poets’ point of view, the Korea author has new point and value on Li Bai’s poetry in the aspect of interpretation and explorationThe third chapter introduces the the comparison of advantage and disadvantage between Li Bai and Du Fu made by Korean poets. By studying from the argument, comparing the evaluation made by different poets from different times, analyzing and summarizing how the Korean poets has inherited and developed the Chinese poetic point of view, we could draw to the conclusion that they have formed a very unique extraterritorial point of view when it comes to the review on Li Bai.The conclusion part mainly makes comments on the former three chapters of this paper, and discusses the advantage and the shortage about this thesis. Futhermore, it also summarizes the innovation and research value of this article.
