Comparative Study Of Chinese And Russian Basic Color Adjective Based On Corpus

Color word is the word in language used to describe the color of objectivethings, which is essential in vocabulary and plays an important role in bothquantity and function. As a language form to record color conception, color wordis complex, and its development and usage are closely related with social andhistorical factors, and other aspects. Therefore, the thorough study of color wordis of great theoretical significance and application value. This paper chooseChinese and Russian basic color words “红/красный”,“白/белый”,“黑/чёрный”,“黄/жёлтый”,“绿/зелёный”,“蓝/синий” as the research object, to studycomparatively from multiple angles, such as chromatics, morphology, lexicology,syntax, semantics and culturology etc., in order to find out the difference andsimilarity of Chinese and Russian language usage.At first, this paper uses chromatics knowledge and mathematics analysismethod to determine the basic color of objective world, utilizes linguisticsknowledge and word frequency method to define the basic color of Chinese andRussian, and according to the defining rules, it selects the basic color word, beingof complete equivalency between Chinese and Russian, as the research object ofthis paper; Then it combines the lexical semantics to analyze the derivationrelation of lexical items of basic color adjective, and to compare the similaritiesand differences between Chinese and Russian basic color lexical items, itstandardizes the classification of Chinese and Russian color words from theperspective of word form method and word-building motivation, it combinessyntax knowledge to compare and analysis the syntactic function of basic coloradjective. At last, the comparative study of color adjective of Chinese andRussian in the perspective of culturology, it combines culturology with the theoryof Language World Vision to compare and analyze the usage of basic color inidiom, euphemisms and folk culture. Besides the original meaning of color it also analyzes basic color adjective’s connotative meaning of national culture, in orderto restore Language World Vision of Chinese and Russian.Through the comparative study of basic color words in Chinese and Russian,we can verify the theory of linguistic culture, promote the research of specificlexicology, and reveal the cultural connotation, inherent national culturalpsychology and emotional expression. The study will facilitate the translationbetween Chinese and Russian and the practice of language teaching.
