Research On Taiwan Picture Books About Local Culture Themed

In such a rapidly developing society today, on the one hand, demands and requirements forpictures are increasing along with the changing of people’s reading habits and therefore thepicture book market is springing up at home, on the other hand,“homesick” has become themost popular and most surprising social mentality due to the rapid working pace and life farfrom home. Meanwhile, the voice for emphasis on Chinese traditional culture is more and moreloud, thus, local culture as a part of it deserves to get more attention. Picture books themedaround Taiwan local culture also become a vacancy crying for replenishments in China’s picturebook market.Picture books themed around Taiwan local culture have passed21years until today, withabundant experiences accumulated. The effects of their popularity have been seen in everycorner of the society in Taiwan and eventually become one of the drivers for the strong culturalenvironment in Taiwan.In this research, large amount of samples were collected thanks to the half-year exchangestudy in Taiwan, and after the settlement of these samples, five analysis methods were appliedfor the comprehensive research and study, including field research, comparative analysis,picture and information analysis and content analysis, aiming to understand the style featureand content developing venation of picture books themed around Taiwan local culture and tofurther study their internal support. And through a summary of their successful experiences,new creation methods and potential fields to explore were provided to the domestic picturebooks with the same theme and relatively reliable data records and information organizationback-ups were generated for the research on picture books with such themes.
