A Co-relational Study About The Effects Of English-learning Motivational Regulation On The Results Of English Learning

With the development of Chinese economy and the tighter connection with the internationalworld, our Chinese are paying more and more attention to English, as well as English learning.Besides, with the tendency of the increase enrollment of university, the enrollment of universities isincreasing steadily. As a result, the English level of independent college school is not even, andusually these students lack learning passion, and the correct learning attitude. Therefore, if we cannot find out a correct solution to solve these problems, it will lead to a result that these students willfail in their English learning, and can not feed the need of our society. Because of this, manyresearchers start to study the learning motivation and learning strategies, and hope to find outeffective solutions to improve the students’ learning achievement. And till now, there are prettymuch research about learning strategies and motivation in and out of home, and there are also someachievements both at theory and practice. However, there are insufficient study about Englishlearning strategies and motivation for college students in independent colleges. Therefore, on thebasis of related research, we make some questionnaires about English learning strategies andmotivation for college students in independent college schools,and studied the relationship betweenEnglish learning motivation and English achievement, English learning strategies and Englishachievement, and English learning motivation and English learning strategies, and we hope toimprove English teaching and learning by the way of studying these topics.There are five chapters in this chapter. In the first chapter, we introduced the aim andimportance of this study. In the second chapter, we reviewed the definition, type and other relatedtheories about English learning motivation and English learning strategies. In the third chapter, weintroduced the study method. By the way of making questionnaires for non-English majors in thefirst and second year in Haibin College, and gave these students an English test, and then wecollected the related statistics and analyzed the statistics by the way of SPSS17.0. In the fourthchapter, we made detailed analysis and discussions about the statistics, and made severalconclusions as follows: there are close connection between the English learning motivation andEnglish achievement, and the English learning strategies and English achievement; there are manyfactors that can influence students’ English learning strategies and motivation, such as genre, grades,majors, districts and provinces, etc; there are also close connection between English learningmotivation and English learning strategies. In the fifth chapter, we refers to the conclusions, impacts, limitations and suggestions about this thesis.In a summary, if we know about the influence of English learning motivation and Englishlearning strategies on English achievement, as well as the connection between English learningmotivation and English learning strategies, it will helpful for our teachers to improve the teachingmethods according to the students’ characters in independent colleges, so as to enhance the teachingeffects, and students’ English learning achievement.
