International trade documents refer to all the relative documents and certificates ininternational trade affairs. International trade business is also called documents business.These documents are very important to both buyers and sellers in international trade. As thesedocuments are written in English, which should be categorized as business English, it requiresbusiness stuffs to grasp both business English and international trade knowledge sufficiently.This thesis collects a set of international trade documents in actual business, including Letterof Credit, Bill of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificate of Origin, SalesContract and so on. Through description and translation of these trade documents, this thesisdiscussed about the characteristics of these documents and analyzes some other relateddocuments through which the author have concluded some language characteristics andtranslation skills of these international trade documents aiming at helping the internationaltrade businessmen to have a better understanding and translation skills towards internationaltrade documents, promoting the carrying on of the actual business and guarantee theefficiency and make contribution to enlarging our international trade at large.Thesis report has five chapters. Chapter I is preface of the subject which introduces themeaning and purpose of the subject; Chapter II is preparation which introduces materialcollection and specialized knowledge preparation; Chapter III is introduction of internationaltrade documents which includes the introduction of all kinds of documents; Chapter IV is theanalysis and discussion of translation practice which introduces the characteristics andtranslation skills of all the documents; Chapter V is conclusion which concludes the merit andshortage of this report.
