A Report On The Interpreting Of VOA Technology Report

The 19 th century was an era of the beginning of the first industrial revolution. It was also the beginning of modern science development. Science communication among countries was growing fast. With the intensification of development of the globalization, the pace of integration of regional economy increases. The improvement of technology paced up economy’s development and people’s development at the same time. In recent years, with the constant growing of our comprehensive national strength, our communication with outside world increases. Science communication is playing a more important role in the world. Science English is a record to science, which content needs to be precise, accurate and objective. It contains large amount of information, professional in the field, and updated fast, which has simple structures and meticulous logic. Hence, interpretation must be done on the bases of respecting the original thesis and interpreting accordingly, which is much different from other types of interpretation. As science English is adapted in a wide range of aspects, it plays decisive roles in many aspects. It affects the national economic development, comprehensive national strength and people’s living standards. Hence, studying and exploring science interpretation is much necessary.VOA Science and Technology Report is adopted as a practice. In the report, the process of interpretation including preparation and practice is listed. Some difficulties and interpretation methods have been mentioned in the report. Some commonly used sentences in VOA science and technology report are summarized and some measures are concluded. The report began with the characteristics of the VOA science and technology report. Meanwhile, through comparing with the translation, the characteristics of interpretation is listed. Further more, I pave the VOA science and technology report below. Also the specificity of the VOA science and technology report is described. Peculiarities from the view of report’s structure, expressive ways and specific words are written, mainly about the characteristics of the VOA science and technology report. Chapter Two is mainly focusing on the two principles of interpreting the VOA science and technology report, the accuracy principle and the fluency principle. At the same time, it states some preparations before interpreting, including getting knowledge of related words and being acquainted with some commonly used sentences. The third chapter is case analyses, mainly about solutions to some cases. In this part, Some difficulties and solutions to them are detailed.
