The research of creativity has been the hot point among psychologists in recent years, continuous exploration make the definition of creativity changing through time. In the early periods of research, psychologists often treat creativity as a trait, the purpose of the study is to reveal the characteristics and causes of the differences. With further study of the creativity, the recent research usually regard creativity as a manifestation, and the focus of the study is to explore the influence of various factors on creativity. Music as an important part of human society, in previous researches has been proved having huge influences on people’s behaviors, but in creativity research field, there is a lack of study on background music. The research starting from the different point of views, through three experimental design to investigate the influence of the tempo of the background music on creativity with different conditions.Research one using the single factor experimental design, the tempo of background music(fast / slow) as independent variables, insight problem solving ability and divergent thinking ability as the dependent variable, discussing the influence of different tempo of the background music on two kinds of creative ability;Research two using the 2*3 experimental design, on the basis of the first research, joined the factor of music lyrics as independent variable, discussing the influence of the tempo of background music(fast / slow) and music lyrics(familiar language / unfamiliar language / language) on two kinds of creativity;Research three summarized the previous experiment results, using the tempo of background music(high / low) * task difficulty(high / medium / low) as the design variables, discussing the influence of different tempo of background music on creativity with different task difficulty.Through the above researches, conclusions summarized as follows:1. The tempo of background music influence creative performance significantly. Specific embodied in: On insight problem solving ability, the slow tempo background music group was significantly higher than fast tempo background music group and the control group with no background music; slow tempo background music group significantly higher on divergent thinking of fluency, flexibility than that of the fast tempo background music group and the control group; The fast tempo music group had no significant difference on insight problem solving, divergent thinking of fluency, flexibility compared with control group; the slow tempo music group and fast tempo music group significantly higher than the control group in divergent thinking of originality, between the slow tempo music group and the fast tempo music group there is no significant difference in originally.2. The influence of different language lyrics on creative performance is significant. Embodied in: On insight problem solving ability and divergent thinking of fluency, flexibility, the lyrics of language and music tempo had significantly main effect, no language background music group creative performance is significantly higher than the familiar language background music group and unfamiliar language background music group, familiar language music group and unfamiliar language music group showed no significant difference between the creativity; On divergent thinking of originally, lyrics of language had significantly main effect, music tempo had no significant main effect, no language music group is higher in originally than familiar and unfamiliar language group, familiar language group and unfamiliar language group showed no significant difference in originally.3. The influence of task difficulty on creative performance is significant. On insight problem solving ability, music tempo and task difficulty had significantly main effect, and there is a significant interaction, embodied in that in the difficult and medium difficulty levels, slow background music group had a significantly higher creative performance than fast tempo background music group, on the low difficulty level, slow tempo background music group and fast tempo background music group had no significant difference; On the divergent thinking of fluency, flexibility, music tempo and task difficulty had significantly main effect, on the divergent thinking of originally, task difficulty had significantly main effect, music tempo had no significant main effect.
