If Beijing Opera is like the bright sun, Wuxi Opera is the briliant pearl off the Taihu Lake.Wuxi Opera has born since the period of Taiping Heavenly Kingdom and evolves “Dongxiang Ditty” and Quyi “Tanhuang”(a form of folk art). Finally, it becomes a kind of multiform, high expressiveness opera which combines with aria, spoken parts and theatrics. Wuxi Opera has graceful arial with folk music characteristics of Jiangnan Watertown. The performances of Wuxi Opera usually reflect the stories about simplicity daily life in the countryside, people who are against their marriage and keeps old tradition and some directly expresses the taunt towards lanlord’s class. It has some characteristics with simple and sincere emotion, rich life flavor and vivid humorous language. Some improvements has been done on traditional performances like “Doublegrind” “Pearl Tower” “Qiu Xiang Sends Tea” and modern drama like “Red Seed” “Safflower Song” and so on. These performances are the representatives of Wuxi Opera and popular among people.As the specialty of Taihu Lake, Wuxi Opera is mainly popular in the southern part of Jiangsu Province and the city of Shanghai. At the most prosperous period of Wuxi Opera in the last century, its influence has ever extended to the north part of Jiangsu Province, Anhui Province, Shangdong Province and some areas where people speak Central Mandarin dialects and Jianghuai Mandarin dialects. However, the phonetic system of Wuxi Opera has been affected by such wide distribution and spread of Wuyun Culture. Wuxi Opera has rich artistic heritage and it should be developed and inherited in the new period. Therefore, the most important point we must pay attention to is that Wuxi Opera should be recognized by people and generate the common sense. Unclear articulation and casual tone are easy to make audiences puzzled and gradually it can people alinate Wuxi Opera. Therefore, unified and standardized speech system plays an important role in the course of singing performance. Wuxi Opera is named as “tin” and it is deeply rooted in the piling scrap of Su hujia piece around of Tai lake and its tone of voice has a close relationship with Wuxi dialect. In recent years, Wuxi Opera constantly pursuits the development goal of “rich art and easy to understand afterwards the tradition, flow with the innovative cavity.” However, dialectphonology is constantly regarded as metaphysical and its insight into the local opera is only ten years. The phonology has no unified standard because of their unique characteristics of spread sung and nowadays people can not show the basic and internal phonetic completely.The absence of basic work has great influence on the spreading and development of Wuxi Opera. Thereof, under the background of forming line, genertion and innovation circumstance of Wuxi Opera history, this thesis intends to analyze the stage phonetic of Wuxi Opera from the perpectives of phonology and rhymes. The aim is to summarize, arrange and describe the approximate apperarance of harmonious rhymes of libretto discussion on the basis of investigation and to discuss the influence factors and complete apperarce of Wuxi Opera stage phonetic. Besides, it will be showed from aspects of relationship between phonology and tune and homophone and complete the basic presentation work of stage phonetic of Wuxi Opera. What is more, the rhyme circumstance and its artistic analysis of Wuxi Opera are researched and abstract some characteristic of stage phonetic of Wuxi Opera by seeking the difference between Wuxi dialects. Finally, it can form a relatively unified phonetic system reference and make a little contribution to the development of inheritance anddevelopment of Wuxi Opera.
