The spirit of Confucianism Mencius broad and profound, as the representatives of Confucianism Confucius, In the heart of good words and good nature, the establishment of a system of precedent system, the first Qin to Song Ming Dynasty, has a great influence in the history of Chinese philosophy.This paper carries out a series of theoretical research in the“good nature doctrine”of Mencius, strives to find a sense of belonging for the people’s spiritual home.This article first summarizes some viewpoints on Mencius’ theory of original goodness of human nature, and sorts out the basic logic train of thought from the numerous different ideas.The first section of the thesis starts with the background to the theory of original goodness of human nature, elaborates the background from three aspects:historical background、family education and personal feelings. Then, the three core conceptions— Mind(Xin in Chinese)、Human nature and Nature of goodness— are explained in details, and then the study discusses the main content of the doctrine of good human nature.The argument in second section attempts to demonstrate the possibility and necessity of the doctrine of good human nature in reality, that everyone has a good nature, and goodness is born with innate. From a social point of view, the good human nature is the internal requirement for the political and economical development.The third part is mainly on the cultivation mode of reserving the desire and moulding the temperament. The efficacious way to reserve the desire and mould the temperament is to cleanse the heart and limit the desires, before that, one needs to seek the cause in himself/herself instead of anyone else.And before that, one needs to find the lost heart, which asks for putting first things first.At last, heaven and man can be a unity, the whole procedure of cultivation then be completed.The last section discusses the influence which have both positive and negative parts and enlightenment for the reconstruction of the moral system of the“good nature doctrine” for later generations.This paper starts with the Mencius’ theory of original goodness of human nature, which builds a theory system by discussing the good will to the good nature and to the supreme heaven finally. Mencius’ theory talks from the tendency toward good nature to the development of it, then comes to the conclusion that everyone can be a good person. The theory of original goodness of human nature is the premise of the social morality norms construction, this paper creates a powerful theoretical accountability for the further construction of harmonious society.
