A Research On Mencius's Theory Of Human Nature And Its Modern Value Of Moral Education

The Chinese nation has good tradition with paying attention to moral education. It remains more moral education assets, Confucius and Mencius are the representation of Confucian masters who especially are moral education forerunners, their thinking and theory concerning moral education and concrete practice are the valuable treasure in Chinese moral education history, and they are worth analyzing conscientiously, studying carefully and using for reference so far.This paper studies Mencius's thinking about the original goodness of human nature, and try to discover its plentiful modern value about moral education.This paper mainly includes three parts:In the first part, the paper analyzes the theoretical and social background about the original goodness of human nature. It includes two aspects, One is Confucius's theoretical limitation, the other is the challenge of Mohism and Taoism.In the second part, the paper systematically explains the original goodness of human nature. First, it analyzes the refutation about human nature between Mencius and the other three persons, then it analyzes the content and logical structure of the original goodness of human nature. In the end, at the base of these, the paper appraises the character of the original goodness of human nature .In the third part, according to the original goodness of human nature and the actuality of the Chinese moral education , the paper discusses the modern significance and value of moral education. In the mass, it includes two aspects , that is theoretical value and practical value.
