As a sunrise industry, tourism industry is flourishing in China. Domestic tourists number and tourism revenue in China are estimated to be a record high in 2015.With this trend, the development of tourist ceramics will also bring new market opportunities to ceramics industry.Firstly, by comparing the status quo of tourist ceramics’ package design at home and abroad, this paper analyzes major factors that may affect the industry and probes into some innovative ideas on tourist ceramics’ package design. Secondly, the present project is an project entity in cooperation with Hunan Dexing Ceramics CO., LTD(Referred to as ―Dexing Ceramics‖,the company’s ceramic brand named ―Xiang Li Yao‖). Under the guidance of tutor, this paper gained deeper insights into the development of ceramic souvenirs. The project--Nanjing Youth Olympic Games’ tourist ceramics design---also gave the writer a great opportunity to practice design skills. Therefore, this paper have a clearer frameworks of designing packages of---―Chu Ci- Hubei‖.Based on the project—―Chu Ci- Hubei‖, this paper reshaped the brand image according to the market research and created a series of patterns called ―Hubei-Shihua‖ which is featured by Hubei local culture. In addition, the series of packaging design considered the entire process of producing, selling, recycling, purchasing, transporting and using. What’s more, design of the package has taken both function and beauty into consideration, and made the products more user-friendly. Innovative designs were made in each aspect to make the products better structured and more portable. Overall, the package design is innovative and practicable. |
