Fuzziness is the objective feature of language and has caught much attention from scholars since ancient times. In 1965, American cybernetics professor L.A.Zadeh put forward the Fuzzy Set theory, which contributes to the emergency of fuzzy linguistics and the pragmatic application of fuzzy language in daily communication. It is the fact that the proper usage of fuzzy language in different occasions will improve the efficiency and expressiveness of communication instead of affecting the preciseness. In diplomatic activities, fuzzy language is a special utterance means for indicating trivial diplomatic intention and achieving particular purposes. For interpreters, it is important to understand the meanings of the speaker and consider the comprehension possibility of the receivers when interpreting fuzzy language. At present, domestic study of fuzzy linguistics has gained much achievement, but there is still a lack of interpretation of fuzziness in diplomatic language. This thesis, under the guideline of Interpretive Theory, focuses on the on-spot material of press conference of NPC and CPPCC in recent years and intends to explore the interpretation strategies of fuzziness in diplomatic language by the method of qualitative analysis. When interpreting fuzzy language, the interpreter should not only realize the political sensitivity, but also take the meanings of the speaker and comprehension possibility of the receivers into consideration. Deverbalization should be placed in the first place. In general, there are three main strategies adopted by interpreters:preciseness to fuzziness, fuzziness to fuzziness and omission, which may be useful for diplomatic interpretation.
