This article selects and thorough exploration on Chinese literary works that representative of ancient,middle ancient and modern China respectively,and analyzes the manifestation and evolution of "stop"semantic fields throughout Chinese history.The entire article is composed of four chapters.Preface is an introduction that illustrates the significance of this study,the current trend in this field and the linguist data and method involved.Chapter one and Chapter two and Chapter three consists of three parts, each examining the "stop"semantic field of one historical period,from ancient to Chinese modern times. The first part in ancient times "stop" investigates analysis of the semantic difference between nine members;The second part is the medieval period "stop" kind of verb semantic field study, analyzing the change of the original members,observed the new members of the semantic characteristics; The third part to the modern times "stop" study class verb semantic field.based on the analysis of the members of the middle semantic field developed and changes.The fourth chapter deals with the evolution of "stop"semantic fields.It demonstrate the use of some archaic words and the process of them dying out,deals with the connection of some other archaic words to the past and their development,gives an account of the birth and use of new words,and summarizes the characteristics of the evolution and the reasons there in.
