Lu Cai, who was from Changzhou (what is now suzhou) of Jiangsu Province, lived in Wuzhong (Jiangnan) area in the middle of the Ming Dynasty when literati legend was rising.He was an important legendary writer during the period of Southern drama transition to the legendary drama in the mid Ming Dynasty.From the practice in the later stage,the dramatic creation of Lu Cai seemed to be not successful.Therefore in the eyes of the Ming and Qing Dynasties and contemporary scholars,the existence significance of Lu Cai lied mainly in two points:One was the phenomenon of art of parallelism in the language, which made him to be a legend Phraseology writers.The another was that the art form of the script Marked his transition of writer identity In the initial literati legend.However as a definite novelty awareness opera writer, opera creation of Lu Cai has another significance.Two begin with, in dramas which theme is love,He deliberately highlighted the "voice" of Outside of the love.It includes two kinds:one is worrying about the problem of loyal and evil,the other is entanglement with the attitude of hermit.Secondly,the love subject in the script Hovered between"emotion" and "reason",which caused the character image "split".But ultimately it exhibited a tendency to the "breakthrough" of "reason" rather than "regression".These phenomena demonstrated in the script reflected the rich and complicated creation states.At the same time, it showed that the author started to focus on the theme of the era and the trend of the style With the help of legendary style. This also let him have some traits which differed from the other writers at that time.But it is also the emergence of these phenomena made Lu Cai fail to success in the drama creation.
