| "Specification" is also called the standard. The word "specification",according to the literature, first appeared in the beginning of the West Jin dynasty. However, the ancient Chinese ancestors were not lack of "standard" concept. As an important part in people’s social life and language specification, The ancient language specification has played an important role in the maintenance of national unity, national unity and social stability. And ancient Chinese phonetic standard played an indispensable role on issues such as specification of the consonant and the selection of the national standard and promotion. Therefore, we should pay attention to the research of ancient Chinese phonetic norms.This study selects the northern and southern dynasties as the era background, with the social external environment of the northern and southern dynasties and sound practice these two aspects as the research object. The former focuses on factors influencing the social culture of the Chinese phonetic specification of the northern and southern dynasties, the latter mainly includes Yan Zhitui and his Admonitions of Master Yan, Gu Yewang and Yu Pian, Lu Deming and The Annotation of Classics. Finally it is concluded that the ancient pronunciation specification exists and its inevitability and necessity of the existence of important conclusions.Moreover, combined with voice normative theory, discusses the Chinese language common language of the northern and southern dynasties. This study has two characteristics, one for the standard theory research combined with ancient Chinese phonetic codes, both for modern Chinese phonetic specification provides historical experience, and for the research of middle Chinese phonetic provides another Angle to think.
